CLING TO THE DREAM OF TOMORROW

SHOW HISTORY
In the Midst of Plenty is an acclaimed new folk musical that tells the story of Bridget Connor, a brave and resourceful mother of four who fights to keep her family together in Ireland at the height of the Great Irish Famine, or an Gorta Mór, as it is more accurately called. In Summer 2023, the show successfully toured for 19 performances across 14 venues throughout Ireland, and has sold more than 4000 tickets nationwide. In the Midst of Plenty was written by San Diego-based writer/composer-lyricist Amy Day, who was inspired to write the piece after a visit to the National Famine Museum at Strokestown Park in County Roscommon. In 2022, Roscommon-based Enchanted Croi Theatre was awarded funding from the Roscommon County Council to bring the show to the stage for the first time, and the show embarked on its 2023 tour with the additional support of Creative Ireland, the Ireland Funds, The National Famine Way, Irish Heritage Trust, the National Famine Museum at Strokestown Park, and the Tipperary County Council.
